Overall, my experience with Maam Exams has been very positive, and this low rating is based solely on my experience with the billing department. Lyndsey is an excellent provider, and I was genuinely disappointed that I could not continue care there. I was a patient at Maam Exams for about a year for various appointments, all of which were either fully covered by my insurance or required only a small copay. After moving away from Gilbert last summer, I had a brief virtual appointment that was required to refill a prescription. The phone call was extremely short—certainly no more than 10 minutes. Following that visit, I was unexpectedly billed $624, which was both alarming and confusing given my prior billing history with the practice. I initially assumed this was a simple billing error; however, the way the situation was handled by the billing team became increasingly frustrating. I contacted the billing department more than 10 times over several months. Each time, I had to re-explain the entire situation, was told it would be looked into, and was promised a follow-up that never occurred. Weeks would pass with no communication, forcing me to call again and restart the process. At one point, I was even told the issue had been resolved and that my balance was $0—only to receive another bill for over $600 weeks later. The billing team acknowledged that the visit appeared to be incorrectly billed based on the services listed. I spoke multiple times with Lily and later with Bobby, yet no resolution was ever provided. After six months of repeated calls, unanswered follow-ups, and no progress, I ultimately felt forced to pay the bill simply to put an end to the situation. I am EXTREMELY disappointed by the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through from the billing department. Despite giving multiple chances and making every effort to resolve this appropriately, I ended up paying over $600 for a very brief phone call. This experience ultimately overshadowed what had otherwise been excellent care.

I’ve been a patient of MAAM exams for roughly 8 years and I found my experience with them incredible in the beginning. The space and staff were always inviting and my provider showed true care for my concerns and questions, my appointments never felt rushed. This has drastically changed since they have moved locations. My most recent appointments since then have felt incredibly rushed and void of any type of true care or connection with myself as a patient. My last appointment with Durrant as my provider was incredibly disappointing to say the least, it seemed she just wanted me in and out as fast as possible. I had several questions that went unanswered, and overall I felt very unimportant and dismissed to the point I actually felt panic, not to mention the fact she talked over me multiple times while I tried to address my concerns with her. This is far from the level of sensitivity and care I expected from MAAM exams. And reading some other reviews it seems I am not the only one who thinks so. I would love to see the same standard of care that I used to see from them, but for now I am more than disappointed. UPDATE: my latest appointment with Dr Molenkamp went much better than my previous experience. She’s incredibly kind, personable, and caring. Thank you Dr Molenkamp!

I’ve used Ma’am Exams in the past and absolutely loved my experiences so I requested an appointment for my yearly exam. I had someone reached out to book my appointment and got it on the schedule. I showed up a little bit early to my appointment and was immediately put off. When I walked in the lady at the front desk looked at me like she had no clue why I was there and when I told her of my appointment she let me know that it had been canceled. When I let her know that I never received any call or email she brushed me off by saying “Well in your chart it says you were called”. I pulled up my call log and did not have a single call from the practice on the day they supposedly called me. Super disappointed and will not be returning.

This used to be a safe, caring place for women to receive timely medical care. Now it is run by a private equity firm and has lost all of the attributes that made it special. The company who took it over couldn’t even be bothered to transfer patient insurance billing info into their system from Ma’am Exams. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with a remote call center getting my insurance verified before the operator would even look at the schedule to tell me I couldn’t be seen for five days, regardless of the issue I was presenting. Healthy U Clinics needs to take the Ma’am Exams name off the door and off of Google, because it’s just another impersonal clinic being run to satisfy investors instead of a desire to provide unique care for women.

Went in for possible menopause symptoms feeling awful. The provider I seen was sick and had a runny nose and coughing during the appointment. They did blood work so I waited for the results. No one ever called me. When I called them someone got on the phone and said blood work was fine but come in and see hormone specialist to discuss. A week later that provider quit and I was told to find another provider for my blood work somewhere else. I asked why if my blood work was fine and they said they didn’t know why I was seeing that person to begin with. Don’t feel confident in this office anymore. So I cancelled that. I asked who reviews my blood work and made this decision but I never got a direct answer as to who. I felt like a number not a person or a patient whose health is important. The office used to be great but now it’s poorly managed and very sad to see a great place go down.
