I’m leaving 1 star because obviously something pretty serious has happened at Neuroscience Institute. I Had an appointment on Oct 2022 for a check up and MRI. Which was cancelled due to staffing. I was never able to reach anyone else at the office or through emails or messages at all. So, therefore I have lost my long term disability insurance and life insurance because I had nobody to fill out the paperwork. My paperwork had been filled out every year in this office. I’ve already lost my career at this point also. I finally saw another neurologist in 2023 and had a new MRI and was told that according to that and the records that I luckily kept that I did not nor did I ever have MS. For 17 years!!!! I am devastated!!!!!!!

They care. For MS he is best. Took me 5 years to find him and am so glad I did. I don't understand negative reviews. ANI staff and Dr Hunter are best. Saved my life. Enough said! Update: permanently closed. Left a bunch of patients hanging and going through withdrawals. Myself included

After being diagnosed on my first visit with PPMS, I was started on different medications causing me to need a cane, slur my words and sleeping most of every day. He then put me on Ocrevus Infusions every six months. The last medication he prescribed put me in the hospital close to brain bleeds and/or seizures because of my sodium level dropping dangerously low. As I sat getting my infusion on 9/22/22, he called his staff into the office and told them he was closing the office as of that day! He left all his patients without care and his staff without a job! Dawn even had to call the patients scheduled for infusions the following week to tell them that they had to find someone else to give them their infusions!! I went to Vanderbilt's MS department and after reviewing my file, all my testing and MRI's (done at a Vanderbilt facility), found out that I do not have MS! In summary, Dr. Hunter over medicated me, and incorrectly prescribed a medication (should be started at 50 mgs per day and monitered by bloodwork, and he started me at 600 mgs per day with no monitoring)! Be warned to get a second opinion before allowing this doctor to treat you!! Oh, and forget about getting your medical records from him...not happening!

I am not sure where all of these positive reviews are coming from, but I strongly recommend going elsewhere for a neurologist! If you want to see some other reviews, search Google by the doctor's name, not the "neuroscience institute." I could write a short story on our bad experiences here, but I will summarize instead: (1) The doctor seems very unorganized and confused. During one visit that should have lasted less than 2 hours but ended up being 4 hours long, we were told contradictory information about whether or not we needed an MRI or an EEG. It was very chaotic during each of our visits. (2) After more than one discussion about current seizure medication dosage, the doctor's official records later showed HALF the dosage we discussed, which probably cause over-prescription of a new medication. (3) It took a week to get in touch with the doctor about a simple question of weaning off one medication while ramping up a new medication. After numerous broken promises of someone calling us back within a day, we finally had to push, on Friday, to talk to the doctor. He was rude, accusatory, and contradicted himself on his prescribed medication program. This is the worst bedside manner I have seen with ANY medical professional in my 55 years on this planet! (4) Due to the aforementioned medication issues, our daughter had a very traumatic medication experience and is still recovering. We are very upset at the poor quality of care provided. Let me conclude by saying once more to steer clear of this doctor. And please make sure to read all reviews listed under the doctor's name! Be warned!

Very attentive to my needs. I finally found Dr. Hunter and all of his great staff a little over 2 years ago and have been doing better than the past 15 years! They are always willing to do what it takes to help me, even if it’s just returning a call because I can’t remember instructions or something simple like that. All of the staff have been very accommodating in order to prepare me for a whole week of infusion treatment. If needed, they have a discount with a nearby hotel. They even go so far as to help you apply for assistance from the world of confusing assistance programs. A real full service group of caring people!!!
