Visited ED on 2-12-26. Nurse Tamara greeted me and was wonderful. My nurse was Mindy and NP was Heather Graham. Both Heather and Mindy took exceptional care of me. All put me at ease and monitored me closely, They explained my treatment plan and executed it in a timely manner. Tamara stop in to say good bye. Great group of nurses. My over all care and treatment was a 10 out of 10. Thank you, Vanessa Schneider.

If the policy during flu season is that no children under the age of 14 are permitted to visit patients please ensure the person at the visitor desk follows this consistently. I was told I could not take my niece with me, but once someone came to sit in the lobby with her I walked past five other little kids on my way to the elevator.

Google Review for St. Elizabeth Edgewood (Emergency Room & 6C Neurology) Rating: 1/5 Stars "I had an appalling experience at this hospital, starting on Dec 31st when I was brought in by ambulance for severe dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, and numbness in my face and extremities. The negligence began immediately: despite being of childbearing age, they never performed a pregnancy test before proceeding with tests. When I exercised my right to refuse unnecessary treatments (like a COVID test when my symptoms were neurological/cardiac or an IV when my labs were normal), the staff became visibly irritated. Furthermore, the doctor refused to perform a CT scan without contrast, even though I explained my allergy to iodine. I was sent home with no relief and no medication. My situation worsened, and I eventually sought help at the Covington location, only to find the same doctor, who seemingly refused to treat me personally and sent a trainee instead. After much debate, I was transferred back to Edgewood 6C (Neurology) with the promise of a one-night stay for an MRI. The care on floor 6C was unacceptable. I was neglected for hours, not receiving my necessary thyroid medication despite asking, and was left without food or water until I had to demand it myself the next morning. When I refused to stay an extra day for tests that could be done outpatient, the staff seemingly retaliated by falsifying my discharge papers—answering questions on my behalf that I never signed and minimizing my complex symptoms to just 'dizziness.' Because of their unprofessionalism and inaccurate documentation, the neurologist’s office is now refusing to see me. They billed my insurance thousands of dollars for a traumatizing experience that left me feeling worse than when I arrived. These individuals lack medical ethics, empathy, and professionalism. AVOID this facility if you care about your health."

I'm not even sure as to where I begin. I will file complaints in the morning. I still don't fully believe Andrea the charge nurse on nights actually believed me, I feel she tried to gaslight me and push a narrative into my head to reshape a bad experience. Asking me why I was taking notes? Because that's my right, Andrea. I am responsible for paying the bill. I came in in excruciating pain. Sam the night nurse there at 10 PM tonight in the ER. Check your attitude. If you don't have the capacity to work in a high stress situation without being rude then maybe you shouldn't be in a fast pace medical environment. We were not in the wrong, you thought you'd keep my brother from being there with me but you thought wrong. None of you aside from Andrea when she decided to listen so she said handled the situation properly. The blonde nurse with you, the sentiment is the same for you, and if Sam is a close friend, if you want to keep your career I'd implement space. Bad eggs like that weed themselves out eventually. Mark, you did fantastic aside from saying my brother caused a disturbance and lacking de escalation skills. Kelly at the front desk, you felt uncomfortable? How about I felt uncomfortable because a place where I am supposed to feel safe in my time of need, felt like a war zone while I had a kidney stone moving through me. For your information, the reason my brother said he would be back in 7 minutes was to show you all what a measurement of time looked like. When asked when my pain medication would be given, shortly isn't acceptable when the physician who came into the room as I was brought in used the terminology quickly after 15 minutes had passed. Sam with her attitude saying we will be there in a minute is what started this weird interaction. Check your tones, your attitudes, and learn to see from the perspectives of others. You may feel safe and protected because I allowed you all to continue treatment instead of leaving and filing my complaint, but I know I was not the first to experience your poor bedside manner, I won't be the last and karma will catch up to you. Andrea, I hope you meant what you said because for a time there you were sliding on thin ice where ethics are concerned. Asking why we wanted names? You all wear name badges and why would I not want the names of the people responsible for my care? I cannot tell if you people need therapy, new jobs, or a vacation but please redirect yourselves to a broader place of professionalism because your behaviors tonight were questionable- actually unethical. Glad I passed my stone and grateful for the help. I won't ever give a dime to St. E Edgewood again. Addition, I am still baffled how ER nurses aren't trained to handle a distressed family member worried for their family- requesting to know when relief will be provided. Rather than responding with attitude, respond with empathy, give transparency IE "We are working as quickly as we can to get XYZ to the patient, it should only be X amount of minutes as we placed an order" vs shortly or we'll be there in a minute. Tone is everything as well. It's more likely for a patient or family visitor to be under distress, staff should be trained to read situations, read people and be able to act accordingly to diffuse situations and drive impactful results. This is still insane to me. I mean they got me treated, but that singular experience, trying to keep my brother, my safe haven and support who sacrificed sleep for work to be at my side from me because a nurse couldn't maintain a professional stance? I mean the charge nurse let him come back, and I'm grateful. But for any of you to say you were uncomfortable with him advocating for me and asking for names when he made it very clear it was for a report to your company about the overall experience and impact is insane. I mean seriously insane. I was the one WITH A KIDNEY STONE SLIDING DOWN MY URETER AND YOU ALL MADE ME EVEN MORE UNCOMFORTABLE FROM STRESS OF YOUR ACTIONS. The audacity. Where was the regard for me, the patient. I hope her apology was sincere, Andreas.
