Imaging center billing review

Your RIS knows what was done. Your billing system knows what was charged and paid. The review joins the two.

What the review checks

1. Exams against charges and payments

Each exam in your RIS is matched to its charge and its payment. Exams with no charge are listed. So are charges with no exam.

2. Denials

Denials grouped by payer, by procedure code and by reason code.

3. Underpayments

Payments compared with your contracted rates, for the payers whose contracts you share.

4. Receivables over 120 days

Accounts receivable older than 120 days, by payer and by reason.

5. Your biller’s own numbers

Net collection rate and days in accounts receivable, recomputed from your data and set beside the figures your biller reports.

Independent of your biller

We take no referral fees from billing companies or software vendors. We have no stake in which biller you use.

What we need

  • An exam list from your RIS.
  • Charges, as an 837 export or a billing report.
  • Payments and denials, as 835 remittance files or a payment report with reason codes.
  • An aged receivables report.
  • Contracted rates for the payers in scope.
  • Your biller’s monthly reports, if you have them.

Scoping can start from counts alone. Patient-level data comes only after a business associate agreement is signed.

What you get

A findings report. It lists each issue, the claims affected, the dollars at risk and the fix. It also says what could not be checked.

The review has a fixed fee, quoted after a 20-minute call. It is never a percentage of collections.
