I've been getting blood drawn at the Ahwatukee location for years but didn't realize that they have students who are in training drawing blood. They took me all the way in the back into a very small room with 3 people. When I asked why so many people one of them mumbled something like that they were in training. The person "training" just stood there glaring ahead at the computer looking very angry for some reason. I had 4 vials to fill up but by the 3rd one something went wrong, and blood was dripping down my arm and onto the armrest with no urgency to clean it up. The "trainer" who looked like she could be a Sumo wrestler had the nerve to say "you moved" when I know I didn't. At that point I was a little startled and frankly afraid. I asked if I could just have one of the regular phlebotomists finish the two vials. No one said anything and the person training walked over to do it. No I'm sorry this happened, or any acknowledgement whatsoever. It was very painful and now I have this red gash and huge bruise. At the very least they should give you the option of having one of the regular phlebotomists or a a trainee.

Absolutely packed waiting room during flu season and they are accepting walk ins who are permitted ahead of scheduled appointments. Brought our newborn in for heel poke and waiting 30 minutes while others with appointments are over an hour wait because of terrible management and walk ins. Do not use this service.

Automated check-in works quickly and I arrived well before my appointment time because I was not feeling well. The volume of patients to be seen was far more than the location should have. One big help was to watch my name on the list on the screen slowly go down. When my name was called (about 25 minutes after my appointment time due to the volume of people waiting - walkins etc..) - the technician, Kasandra, was pleasant and really helpful. I honestly feel that she is one of the best at this work because I did NOT feel the needle going in or coming out, she got the blood sample timely, and she answered all my questions during the procedure. Today, I have no bruise that I seem to get at other places. Sonora Quest may need to open another location - but this experience was 5/5. THANK YOU.

I get so queasy and light headed when I get blood drawn, but I’ve found that a lot of Sonora Quest locations have a room where you can lay down. I started in a seated room while my phlebotomist Lyla went over my blood order and insurance. She asked another staff member if we could use the bed room after he was done, so we moved into that room. She did such an amazing job making the blood draw as comfortable and normal as possible, however during my draw the team lead came in with another staff member and began to harshly criticize Lyla for logging into the computer in the room. This went on for an uncomfortable amount of time and continued even after Lyla walked me out of the room. It felt incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional for the team lead to berate my phlebotomist while a patient was in the room. I was trying so hard to remain comfortable during the blood draw and Lyla was also trying to distract me but having this interaction in the middle of my blood draw made both me and I’m sure Lyla uncomfortable. Overall was disappointed with this interaction and it felt like the team lead prioritized an out of proportions encounter over a patient experience. Lyla did an amazing job!

I rarely ever write reviews while I am currently at location. However this earned it. If you have read any of my reviews you know I am very fair. The only reason they are getting a 2 star and not 1 is because it is 💯 wheelchair accessible. I came in as a walk in for my daughter (child). Again I take responsibility for not reading the terrible policy in regard to walk-ins. So here are the facts as “I see them”. Avoid this location like the plague. If you do have an appointment be prepared to wait even longer than you planned. As I type this I’ve been waiting to drop off a sensitive specimen for over an hour. The front desk person repeats the same lie.. for a walk in it takes about an hour. She did not even look at my child’s orders or insurance cards when we checked in. For a major laboratory company to not have a more efficient system to handle its appointments as well as walk in’s is absolutely ridiculous. If this was just a routine lab work I think I’d have more grace for this location. However these labs are critical for the health of my child. So I will stay and see this through because I have no choice. I see other children waiting longer than our family and I feel that it’s not right. This is high stress environment for an average adult. To put add stress on any child is just cruel. Sonora do better!!! … Stilling writing this review and still waiting.. If the staff in back are outstanding. I’ll revise this
